Hey, a buddy of mine was lucky enough to see a sneak preview of ELF. He said it was pretty funny, but not gut wrenching or anything.

I might go see it this weekend. I guess everyone knows the lines for Elf are up, including Intertops.

I don't know, it looks lik,e they raised the line from 22 to 25, and now I'm thinking under. A lot of people seem to think it will be a huge hit, which it very well might be... everyone laughs when the trailer comes on but there's just someting about it that seems sub-par, maybe it's the production values. Old School opened to 17, this one will do better... but over 25? not sure. keep your eye on the moviefone chart, where it has yet to show up.

I'm thinking the origional line of 22 million might have been sharper. Box Office Report has it at 28 million so maybe I'm wrong...

I think I might be smoking crack here. This movie has great cross-over appeal. The stockprice has risen 7 dollars this week from 72 to 79 bucks, which anticipates a 26 and change opening. No surprise over 22 is -180 at Olympic now. Still no guageable buzz, though. Usually (if not almost always) if a movie is going to make over 25 million it will at least register somewhere on the chart.

Look how long it took brother bear to make it onto the list. It took until Friday. And it made almost 20 million. (man was I close)

With all the attention Matrix is getting, Elf isn't going to pull in as much as I thought. 20 - 22 million tops. A lot of people have told me they're waiting until closer to Christmas to see this movie, when they're more in the seasons-greetings-spirit. Makes sense.

I took 15 - 23.9 million for +115 at Intertops and made a small play on 14.9 million or less for a whopping +750 just incase. $$$

Note: For this movie to do over 25 million... it would have to be in the top five already at Moviefone. And it's not. Actually, it's not even in the top ten. No way this movie does more than 23 million. NO WAY!

A very solid play is 15 - 23.9 million for +115 at Intertops

Love Actually is only playing in 550 theaters but it's ahead of Elf in the ratings. Which goes to show you that Elf is NOT going over 23 million. No Way! There just isn't enough buzz.

Like I said before... a lot of people are waiting until closer to Christmas to see this movie, when they're more in the seasons-greetings-spirit.

Intertops: 15m - 23.9 m +115

Easy money! $$$
